Compañía
Uruguaya de Productos de Hormigón Rocco S.A. is a Uruguayan
company founded in 1932 under the name “Pedro Rocco y Cía,”
adopting its current name in 1947.
From the beginning, its main activity has revolved around the manufacture
of concrete pipes and other pre-manufactured items, such as elevated
water tanks; industrial surface water tanks; sport stadiums, warehouses
and silos; cattle and sheep drinking and feeding troughs, tubes,
yards and bathing facilities; all kinds of doors and windows; stands,
walls and fence structures; and pump wells and special parts for
different architectural and engineering works.
Although the company has developed thanks to the manufacture of
different concrete items for a broad range of social-economic sectors
in the country, in 1998 it created an integral consulting department
for the design, management and execution of civil projects and works.
Different GRUPO ROCCO Departments have an interest in the construction,
cattle breeding, agriculture, real estate and private health care
system areas; as well as representations of several national and international companies both in the national and international market.
The company has been developing and promoting the production and
distribution of drinking water through the use of Autonomous Water
Treatment Units (UPAs) for several years. Since its founding, the
company has maintained a close relationship with the State
Waterworks Administration (OSE, www.ose.com.uy), the public
company responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and
administration of drinking water services in the country, and for
the sanitary systems throughout the country, except Montevideo.
The company also produces and commercializes sewage treatment plants of diverse kinds and capacities.
